The game was designed on the popular Unreal Engine, who’s recent works include Dishonored, Gears of War 3, and Batman: Arkham City. Since Star Wars 1313 has such amazing gameplay and texturing, many people are convinced the game will not be running on current systems, but on next gen consoles, those not due out for another few years. There is still no word on whether or not this will be a multiplayer game, but I think since they have already set up two possible lead characters, it certainly has the potential.

The game-play’s graphics are some of the best I have seen and have a great cinematic feel that is often compared to the Uncharted series for the PlayStation 3. The game seems to rely on a cover system, and contains stunning visuals. So far we have only seen three game-play videos, all within the same part of the game. In addition to this, the official website does require a birth-date in order to obtain access (which is common for most game sites related to an M rated game). While there is no official rating as of yet, the developers have stated that they will be trying to achieve the M rating. Besides bringing all the different Lucas companies in to help with the production of this new game, a large amount of attention has been geared toward the idea of a “mature” Star Wars game. The game was announced at this year’s E3, along with some game-play featuring the technical and creative talents of LucasArts, ILM, Lucasfilm Animation, and Skywalker Sound in an attempt to bring the Star Wars gaming franchise and LucasArts back into competition with other game producing companies. We play the role of a bounty hunter who ventures into level 1313 where the criminal organizations of the Star Wars universe gather and have created a city of “scum and villainy”. Ubisoft Massive’s open-world title is a good candidate, but we’ll have to wait and see.Star Wars 1313 is a third person, action adventure game set in the underbelly of Coruscant. With so many new Star Wars games in development right now, chances are we’ll end up seeing (and playing) something close to 1313 sooner rather than later.

In fact, Level 1313 was one of the main settings in the final season of The Clone Wars, plus many little details from Star Wars 1313 have eventually made it to the small screen through The Mandalorian. Nevertheless, it’s an interesting look into locales and action beats that could always pop up somewhere else - Lucasfilm rarely 100% forgets about unused concepts and material. The rest of the game would be mostly set around Level 1313 in Coruscant, following Fett as the main character and other bounty hunters.Īs you can see in this new demo, LucasArts had a pretty clear idea of where they wanted to take the game, which probably would’ve been semi-open-world, but it was in the very early stages of development.

Rumors claim the game would open with the player controlling an original character, only for him to be killed off by Boba shortly afterwards, quickly establishing how he’s become a fearsome bounty hunter. The only official look at the game we received was a highly cinematic “vertical slice” demo during E3 2012, and it didn’t even feature Boba Fett, but a brand-new character instead.

Even though we’ve heard plenty about this game’s many cool ideas over the years, it seems like it hadn’t entered full production when it was canned, or it wasn’t too far into development. Gameplay footage and concept art from the game haven’t stopped popping up online ever since Disney shut down LucasArts and all of their projects back in 2013 as the result of years of disappointing financial performance and unreleased games due to poor management. Upon further research, this clip (along with past ones) has been uploaded to the Internet by the game’s former lead gameplay animator, James Zachary - you can check out all his work on the cancelled title here, or watch the newest piece of gameplay through the YouTube link below: It appears we’re not done yet with previously unseen footage from the cancelled Star Wars 1313 video game, as Battlefront III (another cancelled title from a bygone era) research site/team The Vault has uncovered yet another very early internal demo.
